CUMaS is setting up a platform to collect donations for Terrence’s family. For those who are unfamiliar to this, do read the following newspaper articles about Terrence’s inspiring life story:
We do try our best to make the procedure as transparent as we could, with a spreadsheet (link below) that is publicly accessible for all to follow-up on the progress of the donation.
By the end of December, the CUMaS committee will deliver the cheque to Terrence’s family, and we will keep everyone updated with the progress.

A reminder for Freshers about the meet-up for MNight this Saturday:
Block the time: Saturday 19 November, 4pm, Newnham JCR (after you enter plodge turn right, as you walk along the corridor it will be on your left).
I cannot stress how important this is. This time round I’ll be a tyrant. For all who auditioned, and all who haven’t but are interested to come on board, this is absolutely compulsory.

5. The International Conference on Cultural Diplomacy in the European Union (Brussels, December 6th – 9th, 2011)
Dear Sir/ Madam,
The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy is currently accepting applications for the event outlined above, which will take place in Brussels during December 2011. The program will bring together governmental and diplomatic officials, civil society practitioners, private sector representatives, journalists, young professionals, students and scholars and other interested stakeholders from across the world for a program of lectures, workshops, group discussions and cultural excursions featuring leading figures from the fields of politics, civil society, academia, and the media.
The EU & Cultural Diplomacy Conference is the first of a series of three conferences dedicated to enhancing awareness and understanding of international governing institutions and their role in promoting cultural diplomacy across the world. The conference, focused on the European Union, is an international conference organized by the ICD and other leading organizations in the home base of the EU—Brussels, Belgium.
The goal of this year’s conference is to facilitate exploration of the unique challenges currently facing Europe from the debt crisis, to crippling military engagements to the debate over increased political and economic union—funneled through a thorough understanding of the historical and theoretical foundations of the “European Project.”
The conference is open to applications from diplomatic and political representatives, civil society practitioners, young professionals, students and scholars, private sector figures, journalists, and other interested stakeholders in international relations from across the world.
