1. Back-to-Uni Squash 2010
It’s the start of a fresh academic year and we’re excited to kick start the year with our classic back-to-uni gathering. Don’t miss out on saying Hello to familiar faces and welcoming our new family members (read: freshers!). It will be a great time for food, fun and fellowship (the 3F’s synonymous with CUMaS events!) – so be sure to save your afternoon teatime slot for us!

2. CUMaS Freshers’ Formal
Whether you are a fresher, a senior, or a non-member, you are welcome to attend CUMaS’ Freshers Formal. There already has been a facebook page set up but your seat will not be reserved for you until you sign up on the form here.
Date: 21 October 2010
Time: 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
Venue: Peterhouse
Attire: Formal attire
Fee: 5 pounds for CUMaS members and 7.50 for non-members (Pay at the door; please bring your membership cards)
3. Jumble Sale
While we haven’t found many sellers, we do have plenty of potential buyers. Please browse through the list of if interested buyers attached and if you happen to see anything you want to sell that fits the buyer’s description, please get in touch with them and negotiate for a price.
4a. Accenture’s Return Home Events
This November, the Accenture Return Home events are happening in the United Kingdom! If you’re studying in the United Kingdom and looking to return to Asia for work after graduation, this could be the opportunity you are looking for. Jumpstart your career back home in Malaysia, in the company of your family and friends, while enjoying the career opportunities that comes with being part of a truly global company.
Make sure to keep your schedule free in November. Accenture’s timetable is attached for your perusal. Watch out for more announcements on the dates, times and venues of our information and networking sessions.
Tentatively, these are the events in Cambridge:
1) A career event on 1st December
2) A case competition on 2nd December

4b. Further studies opportunity with Hong Kong Institute of Education
The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) is a government-funded tertiary institution. They are now offering PhD scholarships to outstanding students wishing to pursue a research degree in education and related areas including humanities, social sciences, health sciences, and cultural and creative arts.
