ConnectCUSEAS x Tengku Zatashah – Forces for Good: Improving Environmental Sustainability and Food Security in Southeast Asia (26 October)
Cambridge Southeast Asian Society (CUSEAS) is excited to announce our first talk of the year, featuring Tengku Zatashah, Princess of Selangor.
Tengku is a prominent social and environmental advocate and activist in Malaysia. To date, she has founded several high-impact campaigns, including #sayno2plastic (2016), #zerofoodwastage(2016, channeling 81,000 tonnes of surplus food from hotels and restaurants to benefit 40,000 people), and #NoMoreLitter #BecauseWeCare (2020), and the Klothcare movement. She has received numerous local and international accolades for her work. In January, she was invited to speak at the world’s largest sustainability expo, the ChangeNOW Summit, in Paris. She is also the Royal Patron of Make-A-Wish Malaysia.
Join us for a discussion about environmental sustainability, food security, and the circular economy in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Tengku will also share her own experiences about how to effectively lobby for change, and her insights on what can be done to tackle these issues in the region.
